Alphadjo Cissè trains with Milan's first team for the first time as Amorim begins his look at the young attacker

Alphadjo Cissè trained with Milan's senior squad for the first time on Wednesday, marking the start of Ruben Amorim's evaluation of the young attacker, as SempreMilan report from Milanello.

This is the first proper look Amorim gets at a player Milan signed and then barely saw. Cissè arrived in the winter window and picked up a muscle injury within days, an injury that wiped out the rest of his 2025-26 season before it began. Pre-season is where he finally gets to make an impression, and where the coach decides whether he's part of the plan or heads out on loan to keep developing.

The profile is interesting. Cissè scored six goals for Catanzaro last season playing off the flank, and he can also operate through the middle. That flexibility is exactly what Amorim's 3-4-2-1 asks for from the two players behind the striker, so there's a natural fit to explore. Six goals from a wide-forward role in Serie B, for a teenager, is a decent return rather than a standout one, but the versatility is what earns him a longer look at this level.

Yahya Idrissi also returned to action, though he did so with Sergio Navarro's Milan Futuro rather than the first team. Idrissi joined from Chelsea in February and has spoken about a long-standing pull towards the club. For now his path runs through the B-team.

Wednesday was the second session of the second week of summer work, with Amorim having given the squad Monday off. Milan open their friendly schedule against Celtic on Saturday, which is where the first real evidence of who Amorim rates will start to show. The door on Cissè's future stays open, and it's the coach who holds the handle.
