Amorim calls for more fluidity from Milan ahead of Lecce clash

Ruben Amorim wants his Milan side to move with greater fluidity against Lecce, identifying a tendency to become static and predictable as the issue he is trying to fix.

The Rossoneri head into tonight's game needing three points before the international break, having drawn with Juventus and Lazio in the league before losing to Benfica in the Europa League on Wednesday, a first defeat under Amorim.

Speaking to DAZN shortly before kick-off, Amorim pointed to specific passages of play in recent weeks where his team showed what he is after, and admitted that consistency is the next step.

"If you look at our team, sometimes we start looking for the right positions; we need to be more fluid," he said. "In some sections, Lazio, Torino, and Venezia, we saw this fluidity, but we need to work on it and do better."

The broader mood around the camp, Amorim insisted, is positive despite the recent results. "We're doing a lot of good things, sometimes people only focus on the negatives. We have to keep doing well and try to improve."

He also addressed the attention his direct communication style has drawn since arriving at Milanello. "We need to evolve, people aren't stupid and they appreciate the truth," he said. "But sometimes I get into trouble. We all need to improve our communication skills."

Whether the fluidity Amorim wants arrives against Lecce or takes longer to embed, the coach has at least made the target clear, and named the moments where his players have already hit it.
