Milan's players have been granted a couple of days off before returning to Milanello later this week to prepare for the final pre-season friendly against Manchester United.
The break comes after a long stretch of travel, with the squad returning from their pre-season commitments in Australia and Indonesia. Three of the four friendlies have now been played, and with the season opener drawing closer, Amorim has opted to give his players rest before the final push.
The squad is flying back from Indonesia to Milan today, and the length of the journey makes the downtime a sensible call. Work will resume on Wednesday, when the pace picks up ahead of the meeting with the Red Devils, a game that will be staged in Poland rather than at home.
The pre-season record so far reads two draws and one defeat, and Milan are yet to win under Amorim. A result against United would be a chance to build some confidence before the campaign begins, especially given how the fixture list opens.
That opener sends the Rossoneri to Torino, an away trip that offers little margin for a slow start.
With the friendlies almost done, the focus at Milanello now shifts to sharpening the squad in time for the trip to Turin.
