Ruben Amorim will name the same back three that has yet to concede a goal together when Milan travel to Juventus, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Rossoneri have opened the season with two wins, a 2-1 at Torino and a 2-0 over Venezia at San Siro, but the trip to Turin is the first real measure of where this side stands.
The trio stays as it was in the first two games: Mario Gila, Koni De Winter and Strahinja Pavlović. The one goal conceded so far, against Torino, came only after Gila had gone off with fatigue, so the three of them are yet to be breached while all on the pitch at once. There was a degree of fortune in some moments against Venezia, but the shutout at Torino was earned.
Gila has brought a solidity the defence had been missing, along with composure on the ball and the right temperament. Pavlović remains Pavlović, leaning on his physique when technique alone will not do. De Winter has looked the least assured of the three, and Turin is his chance to answer that.
On the bench, Gazzetta notes, Amorim will have the returning Fikayo Tomori and young Sankhoun Diawara to call on. Diawara has just 18 professional games behind him, 14 of them in Ligue 2 and none at top-flight level.
That thin CV did not worry Amorim, who was comfortable enough with the Frenchman to avoid pushing for another centre-back in the closing days of the mercato. Once Matteo Gabbia is back from injury, the head coach will have depth to spare at the back.
The clean sheet at Torino was one thing, but Juventus away is where Amorim finds out whether this back three can hold against real pressure.
