Ruben Amorim will have the chance to work with Mario Gila, Christian Pulisic and Alexis Saelemaekers at Milanello during the international break, with all three left out of their respective national team squads.
Milan are the most affected Serie A side this window, with 15 players called up for international duty, a figure matched only by Como. That gives the break a different shape for Amorim, who arrived with limited time on the training pitch, but the trio staying behind offers him a useful cluster to build with.
Gila, who has only ever received a single Spain call-up without winning a cap back in 2025, will use the fortnight to continue building fitness and settling into Amorim's system. Pulisic, meanwhile, was not selected by the United States despite making his first start of the season in the last league outing against Lecce. Yunus Musah, by contrast, has returned to the US squad after a period of absence.
The Belgian national team, who face Italy during this window, called up Koni De Winter and new signing Diego Moreira, Milan's current top scorer with three goals, but left Saelemaekers out of the squad.
For a coach still in his earliest days at the club, uninterrupted sessions with three senior players who need integration time could prove more valuable than any friendly.
