Milan have tied down two of their most promising academy products, with Francesco Camarda and Christian Comotto both signing contract extensions through to 2031.
These are the deals that protect the value of what the club produces. Camarda in particular has been on the radar of clubs across Europe since he was a teenager scoring for fun in the youth ranks, and letting a talent like that drift towards the final years of a contract would be an invitation for someone to pounce cheaply. Locking both in until 2031 gives Milan control, whether that means integrating them into the first team or eventually selling on the club's own terms rather than under pressure.
The renewals had been expected for some time. SempreMilan reported on July 15 that both players were closing in on new terms, and the official confirmation followed on Friday.
Camarda, still only 17, is the more talked-about of the pair, a centre-forward the academy has been building around for years. He marked the moment on Instagram: “Wearing this shirt is special, and doing so again for years to come is a dream that continues. FORZA MILAN.”
Comotto, a midfielder and son of former Italy defender Gianluca Comotto, kept his message shorter: “An honour to extend my relationship with the club that raised me and that I love. Thank you, Milan.”
The real test comes next. Camarda needs minutes at senior level to keep developing, and how Milan manage that, whether through a loan or a slow integration, will decide whether these contracts turn into first-team careers or well-timed asset protection.
