Furlani's Milan departure now official as company register confirms new board structure

Giorgio Furlani's exit from AC Milan is now formally complete, with the company register confirming he no longer holds any role at the club.

The departure had been expected since Gerry Cardinale's end-of-season overhaul, which saw Furlani removed as CEO alongside head coach Massimiliano Allegri, sporting director Igli Tare and Geoffrey Moncada. What remained was the administrative process of updating the official records, and that has now been done.

The updated organisational chart, visible through the Chamber of Commerce register, places Paolo Scaroni at the top as Chairman of the Board of Directors. New CEO Massimo Calvelli sits beneath him, followed by Cardinale himself, who holds a standard directorship on the board despite being the club's owner. Stefano Cocirio is listed as a company representative, while David Castelblanco, Randy Lewis Levine, Riccardo Stefanelli, Robert Jay Klein and Alfredo Craca all appear as advisors.

Calvelli's remit is expected to differ significantly from Furlani's. His focus will lean towards the financial and strategic side of running the club, with a political dimension to the role, but less direct involvement in sporting decisions. That split signals a change in how Milan's boardroom operates day to day, with sporting matters presumably falling more squarely under whoever fills the gaps left by Tare and Moncada.

As for Furlani, reports suggest he has several international offers on the table and may already be in discussions with a new employer, with an announcement potentially arriving in the coming weeks. His next move will be one to watch, but for Milan, the page has turned.
