Milan are among the clubs interested in Breel Embolo, with Como now joining the race for the Rennes forward, according to Calciomercato.com.
The Swiss international has been circling Serie A for a while, with Juventus and Roma both previously credited with interest. Now the field has widened again, and the question is which of the suitors clears space in attack first.
Embolo, who impressed for Switzerland at the last World Cup, spent last season in Ligue 1 with Stade Rennais. His name sits on the lists of both Milan and Napoli, but it was Como who made the first enquiry, and the player has shown himself open to a return to Italy.
Cesc Fabregas' side are chasing a striker with international pedigree ahead of their Champions League debut. Alvaro Morata and Douvikas are the current options, but the Spaniard is set to leave after receiving offers from MLS, and Como have already contacted Embolo's agent to sound out the fee and associated costs. Those talks followed earlier contacts with Milan and Napoli over recent weeks.
No club has yet spoken to Rennes, who value Embolo at around €15m given his contract runs until June 2029. The competition is not only Italian: Bournemouth are also keen, and the Premier League would appeal to the player.
The order of business is the same for everyone. Como must sell Morata first, while Milan and Napoli need to thin out their forward lines before any serious move. For the Rossoneri, that means the exit of Santiago Gimenez to Porto, a deal that could free things up depending on how the club rates Francesco Camarda.
For now, Milan's interest is real but conditional, and the striker who moves first may depend on whichever club offloads first. On the Rossoneri side, that decision runs through Gimenez.
