Milan are willing to let Youssouf Fofana leave and have set an asking price of between €18-20m, with five clubs already chasing his signature, according to Footmercato.
Fofana arrived from Monaco two seasons ago for €26m and made himself a fixture in midfield under Paulo Fonseca, then Sergio Conceicao and Massimiliano Allegri. Under Ruben Amorim, his standing has shifted, and the Rossoneri now see a sale as an option rather than a problem.
Nottingham Forest have moved to the front of the queue and stepped up their pursuit, tabling a contract offer to the French midfielder. Crystal Palace have also put a proposal to the player, while Ipswich Town are tracking the situation and have registered their interest.
The chase is not confined to England. Villarreal have submitted a contract offer of their own, and Real Betis have joined the race, giving Fofana a spread of options across two leagues.
Milan's stance on the fee is where the story sharpens. The €18-20m they want sits below the €26m they paid two years ago, a discount that reflects the club's need to move quickly rather than hold out for the full outlay.
The reason is the missing Champions League revenue. Without the competition's income this season, Milan need to raise funds to complete the final signings of their squad, and Fofana is one of the assets that can generate them.
That leaves plenty of movement in the interest but no bid at Milan's valuation yet, and with contract offers already on the table from multiple clubs, the next move belongs to Fofana and whichever suitor meets the Rossoneri's price.
