Diego Moreira leads every Serie A player in market value increase after Transfermarkt's latest update, with his valuation jumping €20m to reach €45m following a blistering start to life in a Milan shirt.
The Belgian arrived from Strasbourg in a deal worth up to €65m (€45m fixed plus €20m in bonuses) and took time to earn regular minutes, but three goals in the last two league games have changed the picture rapidly. A quick-fire brace against Lazio was followed by another strike on Sunday against Lecce, and the numbers have caught up with the performances.
Alphadjo Cisse has enjoyed a similarly sharp rise. The 19-year-old's valuation has climbed from €7m at the start of the campaign to €20m, reflecting a two-goal return that makes him Milan's second-top scorer behind Moreira. Signed last summer from Verona for €8m plus €2m in bonuses, Cisse announced himself with a curling effort on his debut against Torino and then gave Milan the lead against Juventus. Rúben Amorim's willingness to trust him in big fixtures is paying off early.
The picture is far less encouraging for Fikayo Tomori. According to the updated valuations, the English centre-back tops the list of Serie A's most devalued players, dropping from €17m to €10m. Amorim officially removed him from the squad after the summer tour, deeming him unsuitable for the new coaching project, and although the club later reinstated him due to a lack of further defensive reinforcements, Tomori has not played a single minute in the league or the Europa League this season.
The contrast tells its own story about the direction of travel under Amorim: youth and explosiveness are being rewarded, and those outside the project are paying the price in minutes and, now, in market value.
