Sérgio Conceição's summit with Gerry Cardinale at Milanello will settle which players are cleared for sale, with Fofana, Ricci and Estupiñán among the names on the list, according to Matteo Moretto.
The exits have become the sticking point of Milan's window. After roughly €100m went on Gonçalo Ramos from PSG and Mario Gila from Lazio, the market has stalled, and the belief is that no further incomings will move until bodies leave first. With 10 days until the season opener, the clock is against them.
Speaking on Fabrizio Romano's YouTube channel, Moretto framed the coming days around a face-to-face between owner and coach. "Milan are trying to figure out how to free up space to then bring in new players, new arrivals on the market. There are several players on the way out. It's Gerry Cardinale's time at Milanello, there will be a summit with Amorim," he said.
He then named the players the coach is prepared to move on. "Amorim will tell the Rossoneri owner which players have been rejected, in quotes, that are on the market: Fofana, Ricci, Estupinan, several names. Milan are working on the exits, Cardinale and Amorim face to face."
No fees or timelines were attached to any of the three, and Moretto stopped short of putting a full list to the names, leaving "several names" open. What the sit-down does is tie the sales directly to the coach's judgement, which means the incomings Milan want are now downstream of whoever Cardinale agrees to sell.
From here, it is Cardinale and Amorim in the room, and the rest of the window waits on what they decide.
