AC Milan have confirmed that MSC Cruises will remain the club's sleeve sponsor, extending a partnership that has been running for several seasons. The announcement was made on the club's official channels.
Off-pitch income is where Milan quietly close the gap on the clubs above them. Serie A's broadcast pool is a fraction of the Premier League's, so every commercial slot on the shirt matters, and the sleeve is one of the most valuable pieces of real estate the club owns after the main chest sponsor. It's the sort of revenue that funds the difference between a €15m signing and a €30m one.
The MSC logo will appear on the sleeve of the men's first team, the women's team, Milan Futuro and the Primavera. The financial terms weren't disclosed, but the previous MSC sleeve deal has been reported in Italy at around €4m per season, in line with what mid-to-upper tier Serie A sleeve partnerships tend to fetch.
Chief Revenue Officer Maikel Oettle framed the renewal as a continuation of a partnership between "two leading Italian brands," while MSC's Leonardo Massa pointed to the shared Milan roots of both organisations. The rest of the official statement was the usual corporate language about values and vision.
The headline sponsor on the front of the shirt remains Emirates, with the Fly Better logo now in its second decade on the Rossoneri kit. MSC on the sleeve completes the top end of Milan's shirt inventory for another cycle.
For a club that still has to sell to buy, keeping the sleeve deal locked in is the sort of housekeeping that doesn't make headlines but pays for the ones that do.
