Pulisic ends 266-day Serie A drought as Milan cruise past Lecce 3-0

Christian Pulisic scored his first Serie A goal since December 2025 as Milan swept aside Lecce 3-0 at San Siro on Sunday night, heading into the international break on a convincing note.

The American opened the scoring in the first half before Adrien Rabiot and Diego Moreira added second-half goals to wrap up a performance that, statistically at least, was about as one-sided as the scoreline suggests. After a run of underwhelming displays, Ruben Amorim's side produced something far more assertive.

Pulisic's goal ended a run of 39 shots without scoring in Serie A, a drought stretching 266 days back to his strike against Verona on 28 December. Shot number 40 was the one that broke through. It also continued a curious personal streak against Lecce: in seven career meetings with the Giallorossi, Pulisic has now scored seven goals and never lost.

The broader numbers painted a picture of total control. Milan held 69% of possession and generated 1.93 expected goals to Lecce's 0.17, created five big chances to none for the visitors, and put four of their 10 shots on target. Lecce managed six shots but only three on target, never seriously threatening.

It was also Milan's first goal of the season scored in the opening 45 minutes, a small but telling detail given how reliant Amorim's side have been on second-half surges. On that front, Milan have now scored eight goals between the 61st and 75th minutes this Serie A campaign, more than any other side in the division, while their 11 second-half goals overall matches Inter at the top of the league.

According to stats compiled by MilanEye, the fixture's historical lopsidedness only deepened. This was Milan's 32nd win over Lecce in official matches and their 21st at San Siro in 25 home meetings, a ground where Lecce have won just once with three draws. Milan have now scored in 18 consecutive games against Lecce and kept clean sheets in each of their last six home encounters with the Giallorossi. Goals 104, 105 and 106 against Lecce were duly registered.

For Amorim, it marked a first win against both Lecce and their coach Eusebio Di Francesco, adding to what was his 17th defeat at the hands of Milan across his managerial career.

A comfortable evening, then, and one that leaves Amorim's squad with something to build on when Serie A resumes after the break.
