Roma's Soulé offered to Milan again as loan-to-buy formula emerges

Matías Soulé has been offered to Milan once more, and with the window closing, a loan deal with an option to buy is no longer off the table, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Rossoneri have been chasing a left-footed attacking midfielder to complete their squad before the deadline, one of two incomings still wanted alongside a centre-back comfortable building from the back. That profile is exactly what Soulé fits, and his camp knows it.

His agents have reportedly been scouting for a new destination for weeks, waiting on Roma to give the green light. The wider picture at the Giallorossi is what makes the situation live: Calciomercato.com reports that Roma may need to sell to balance their books, and with Paulo Dybala back to fitness and rated by Gian Piero Gasperini as a player who can still lead the line, Soulé's minutes could be squeezed.

The forward has been offered to Milan recently, with his representatives aware the Rossoneri are looking in that area of the pitch and for a player with his characteristics, under the right conditions. That last clause matters for how any deal would be built.

Roma bought Soulé from Juventus in the summer of 2024 for €30m on a contract running to June 2029. He earns €2.5m net a season plus bonuses, and his current valuation sits not far from what Roma paid two years ago. A straight sale at that level would be a stretch for Milan this late in the window, which is where the structure comes in.

With the deadline approaching and several factors in play, Calciomercato.com does not rule out Roma opening to a loan with an option to buy. That formula would let Milan add the profile they want without committing the full €30m up front, and it would give Roma a way to move a player whose path to regular starts has narrowed.

With eight days left, the next move belongs to Roma and whether they decide a sale is needed to fund their own business.
