Filippo Terracciano could be on his way to Monza before the window shuts, with the newly-promoted side wanting to open proper talks with Milan over the defender.
Terracciano has never quite found a settled role at Milan, and last season he was sent out on loan to Cremonese. With the Rossoneri open to a sale, Monza offer a route to regular football at a club now back in Serie A.
According to today's edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, Monza have a friendly lined up against Milan Futuro on Tuesday, but their interest goes well beyond that fixture. Terracciano is their top target, and the report describes him as the ideal profile for Ivan Juric.
Milan are willing to let him go, though the preference is for a permanent deal. A loan with an obligation to buy, triggered if Monza secure survival, may also be on the table as a compromise.
Monza reached the top flight through the play-offs, edging past Catanzaro. The tie finished 2-2 on aggregate, but the former Berlusconi club went through on the strength of their higher regular-season finish.
No fee has been reported for Terracciano at this stage, and the structure of any move remains to be agreed. With both clubs meeting next week, the friendly gives their directors an obvious chance to take the conversation further.
